Cao Peixi Attends the 2nd Meeting of Sino-Mexico Entrepreneur High-level Working Group

On November 13th, Cao Peixi, President of China Huaneng Group, attended the 2nd meeting of Sino-Mexico Entrepreneur High-level Working Group at the Great Hall of the People. Xi Jinping, President of China, and Enrique Peña Nieto, President of Mexico, jointly met with meeting representatives.

Cao Peixi delivered a speech entitled Persist in Clean Low-carbon Development and Promote Sino-Mexico Electric Power Cooperation at the meeting. He introduced the basic information of Huaneng, and stated that Huaneng has persisted in taking the path of efficient, clean and sustainable development, vigorously developed low-carbon clean energy projects, and enhanced clean and efficient use of coal. Huaneng has also been committed to research, development and demonstration of advanced power generation technologies, with an aim to boost transformation and upgrading of the power industry. He said, Huaneng already has power assets in Mexico, which has laid a good foundation for further development in Mexico. Huaneng is willing to give full play to its own advantages, and continue to seek cooperation opportunities and expand cooperation fields in Mexico. By innovating cooperation modes, Huaneng will work closely with Mexican counterparts to strengthen cooperation in low-carbon clean energy, energy saving and emissions reduction, advanced technology development, so as to make contributions to ensuring power supply and building green and low-carbon society in Mexico.

The establishment of Sino-Mexico Entrepreneur High-level Working Group is an important decision jointly made by President Xi Jinping and President Enrique Peña Nieto for strengthening bilateral trade and investment. This Working Group is mainly designed to provide policy opinions and advices to both governments of China and Mexico so as to promote improvement of bilateral trade, investment environment and economic ties between the two parties.
