Ma Kai Visits Huaneng Booth at the International Nuclear Industry Exhibition

On April 16, Ma Kai, Politburo member of CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, came to the 13th China International Nuclear Industry Exhibition, and visited the booth of China Huaneng Group with great interest. Hu Jianmin, Vice President of China Huaneng Group, accompanied the tour.

At the Huaneng booth, Ma Kai listened to the report of Hu Jianmin regarding the technology features of Huaneng Shandong Shidao Bay HTGR Nuclear Power Plant Demonstration Project, as well as the progress of the project. He watched the sandbox demo of Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Base and the model of HTGR nuclear power unit, and commended Huaneng’s effort in actively promoting the proprietary fourth-generation nuclear power technology.

With the theme of "Cleaner nuclear technology, and more beautiful China", the 13th China International Nuclear Industry Exhibition was held on April 15 - 18 in Beijing. Representing China Huaneng Group, Vice President Zhang Tingke attended the opening ceremony on April 15.

As one of the central state-owned enterprises with the qualification of nuclear power development, China Huaneng Group comprehensively demonstrated its efforts and achievements in promoting green power and nuclear power development through this exhibition. During the exhibition, as the world’s first commercial nuclear power unit featuring fourth-generation nuclear power technology, Huaneng Shidao Bay HTGR Nuclear Power Plant Demonstration Project attracted extensive attention from experts, scholars, as well as the general audience from both home and abroad. As the first nuclear power project controlled by China Huaneng Group, the construction of the Shidao Bay HTGR Nuclear Power Project has great strategic significance in promoting technology innovation for the next generation of nuclear power system in China.

The Exhibition showcased the world’s newly developed nuclear technologies in recent years, and provided the global nuclear industry with a platform to demonstrate their technology, exchange ideas, and enhance cooperation. More than 200 exhibitors from over 40 countries attended the exhibition, including China, the U.S., France, the UK, and Russia.
