Cao Peixi Meets with President and CEO of Siemens

On June 6, on the sidelines of the Siemens 2018 “Belt and Road” International Cooperation Forum, Cao Peixi, Chairman of China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. met with Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens AG. The two sides exchanged opinions on further deepening cooperation and striving for mutual benefits.

Cao Peixi congratulated Siemens on its remarkable business achievements in China and wished the forum a complete success. He said, Huaneng and Siemens have maintained a good partnership for a long time. In recent years, the two sides have carried out cooperation and exchanges in various areas such as energy efficiency improvement, small and medium-sized gas turbines, offshore wind, and international project development, etc., becoming a representative example between the two countries in deepening cooperation. It is hoped that the two sides will earnestly implement the consensus reached between the national leaders of China and Germany last month, and seize the development opportunities brought about by the “Belt and Road Initiative” and the “German Industry 4.0”, so as to strengthen strategic alignment and give full play to the respective advantages, and conduct substantial cooperation in the energy sector in a deeper and higher level. By working together, we will strengthen exchange in the field of clean energy, actively participate in global energy governance, jointly explore a green and sustainable development path, and make due contributions to the economic and social development of the two countries.

Joe Kaeser thanked Huaneng for its trust and support to Siemens, and expressed appreciation for Huaneng's achievements in recent years. He also agreed with Cao Peixi's suggestions in the keynote speech of the forum. He said, the “Belt and Road Initiative” is another start for China's economic boom. Siemens will work together with Huaneng to seek cooperation at higher levels and in wider areas, and strive to become a model of cooperation in the “Belt and Road Initiative”.
