17 New Names Added to Huaneng’s List of Energy-saving and Environmentally-Sound Coal-Fired Power Plants

On July 8, 2010, China Huaneng Group formally entitled 17 of its power plants in Yangluo, Chaohu, Yueyang, Nanjing, Ruijin, Jinggangshan, Changxing, Shang’an, Jinqiao, Baosan, Kundulun, Weihai, Xindian, Jiaxiang, Zhongtai, Tongchuan and Haikou as energy-saving and environmentally-sound coal-fired power plants.

So far, China Huaneng Group has built 41 energy-saving and environmentally-sound coal-fired power plants. According to the plan of China Huaneng Group for building such enterprise, it will cause all its coal-fired power plants to become energy-saving and environmentally-sound by the end of this year.

China Huaneng Group called on the entitled power plants to earnestly implement the scientific outlook on development and its requirements for changing the mode of development, to further carry out the saving of resources and environmental protection, correct existing problems, make constant innovations, pursue excellence and ensure that all indexes remain advanced both at home and abroad. Huaneng will place such enterprises under dynamic management by inspecting them every half a year in respect of the implementation of corrective measures, energy saving and emission reduction. For a power plant that is found to fall short of requirements in annual recheck, its title will be cancelled.
