China Huaneng Group Winning “2009 Special Prize for China’s Corporate Social Responsibility”

At the seminar held on September 19, 2009 entitled “Responsibility—60th Anniversary of China”, China Huaneng Group won the “2009 Special Prize for China’s Corporate Social Responsibility”.

Sponsored by China Enterprise News and China’s CSR Research Center, the seminar commended 100 enterprises excelling in fulfilling CSR, awarded the “2009 Special Prize for China’s Corporate Social Responsibility” to 20 enterprises and conferred the title of “2009 Outstanding Enterprises of China’s Corporate Social Responsibility” to 80 enterprises.

This list of CSR fulfillment was created by experts who rated some 10000 participating enterprises. The experts present at the seminar spoke highly of Huaneng’s fulfillment of its social responsibility and concluded that it had done well in consciously fulfilling its own social responsibility, saving energy, reducing emission and supporting programs for public good, thus building the image of a responsible company; for three years, it has released report on sustainable development to the society and conducted friendly communications with stakeholders; the report is high in quality and exemplary to an extent.
