#CHDExpress: Emergency Procurement on PPE Aims to Ensure Safety of Employees and Energy Security in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, May 18 -- At present, the spread of COVID-19 worldwide is intensifying, and the situation of the prevention and control of the epidemic in Pakistan is rather grim. The safety of employees at the Thar Project of China Huadian Power Plant Operation Co., Ltd. in Sindh Province, Pakistan, has always been the concern of their colleagues at CHD back home. 37,000 masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) have been purchased in an emergency procurement and are now going to reach the project site in batches, the masks will be used for personal protection for Pakistani and Chinese employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. So far, there are no cases of infection among all 570 plus staff members who are sticking to their positions. At the same time, they have overcome all difficulties and smoothly completed maintenance work for Thar 2×330MW CFB Units Project, which has paved the way for local COVID-19 prevention and control and meets the daily demand of a stable and secured power supply.
