#CHDfightsCOVID-19：Ensuring Power Supply to Assist Bangladesh in Overcoming the Pandemic

DHAKA, May 6 -- As the virus is spreads ever widely outside of China. Staff members at CHDOC are combating the pandemic to safeguard the power supply in the face of complex challenges. in Ghoroshal, Bangladesh, the country’s first single-gas turbine power plant with the largest capacity, the Ghoroshal 365MW Combined Cycle Power Plant, staff had remained on duty, and proceeded in an orderly manner to ensure the safe and stable supply of electricity to the capital Dhaka for helping Bangladesh defeat the pandemic.

When the epidemic hit, CHD employees joined hands with the local people. The project staff categorized and summarized the "small tricks" of scientific epidemic prevention and translated them into English posters, posted them at the door of the control room, and explained them to the Bangladeshi personnel one by one, and made every effort to improve the knowledge of outbreak prevention of the Bangladeshi personnel and enhance their personal protection awareness. The Project staff took the initiative to share their experience of fighting against the pandemic with their Bangladeshi partners. They described CHD responsibilities in the fight against the epidemic and ensuring power and energy supply. They were encouraged to work together with their Chinese counterpart to overcome the difficulties and make the project safe and stable, to ensure the local energy supply. As of April 24, the project had a total of 1184 days of safe production, with a cumulative power generation of 517.12 billion KWH, which reached 5% of the total power generation of the Bangladesh Power Grid.

At the same time, the project department has overcame the impact of the epidemic, insisted on domestic and overseas linkages under the organization of the company, and taken effective measures to put the training of Bangladeshi personnel in a more prominent position, focusing on the two-way integration of project production and training of Bangladeshi personnel. Provide strong support and guarantee for the owner to take over the project. Project staff insist on "successful training" and continuously improve the independent operation level of Bangladeshi personnel. Up to now, the Bangladeshi personnel are proficient in the daily operation of the equipment and the troubleshooting of general faults, and have acquired basic ability to independently operate the entire power station.

In the next step, the project department will continue to focus on the "emphasis" of epidemic prevention and unblock the "blocking point" of resuming production, use practical actions to establish the CHD brand overseas and help the group company to build a world-class energy enterprise with global competitiveness.
