Wen Shugang attends the second CIIE in Shanghai

CHD Chairman of the Board Wen Shugang attended opening ceremony and relevant activities of the second China International Import Expo and Hongqiao International Economic Forum in Shanghai on November 4 to 6. CHD Vice President Yang Qingting also attended these activities. 

During his stay in Shanghai for CIIE, Wen Shugang met with Jean-Bernard Levy, Chairman and CEO of EDF group and witnessed signing of joint venture contract for Wuhan heating supply project. CHD Vice President Yang Qingting and Vice President of EDF Group and President of EDF China Fabrice Fourcade also attended the meeting. According to the contract, the two sides will establish a joint venture for jointly promoting heating and cooling supply in Wuhan, Hubei province. Prior to the signing ceremony, Wen Shugang introduced CHD latest development to EDF delegation. He noted that, in response to Chinese President Xi Jinping’s call for advancing revolution in energy supply, consumption, technology and system while promoting a coordinated international cooperation, CHD is pushing forward the dynamic development of non fossil fuel-fired power project and striving to establish “clean, low-carbon, safe, high-efficient” energy system, so as to make CHD a globally-competitive world-class energy enterprise. He stressed that the signing of the contract not only embodies General Secretary Xi’s call for working together to build an open world economy through cooperation, with innovation and for mutual benefits, but also represents a new starting for promoting mutual trust and cooperation between CHD and EDF, and exemplifies as model of cooperation between China and France, dedicating to deepening friendship for mutual growth.      

Jean-Bernard Levy expressed gratitude for CHD hospitality and introduced EDF strategy and business. He noted that two sides share similar goals in terms of speeding up energy transformation, addressing climate change and pursue sustainable development. He called on two sides to explore opportunities of cooperation on offshore wind power, onshore wind power and solar power while improving efficiency and resources allocation, keeping up innovation and exploring new energy solutions for mutual benefits and win-win results.

CHD trade mission team comprising the group company and 6 subsidiaries has achieved fruitful results during the CIIE, nailing 17 purchase contracts and cooperation agreements involving gas turbine, compressor, coal mining machine and consulting service, with an aim to promote high-quality development and deepen cooperation in sectors including industry, trade and technology and to fully unleash effect of the second CIIE. CHD Vice President Yang Qingting attended the signing ceremony.  

CHD representatives from General Administration Department, Materials Management Department, Party Building Department, International Business Department and subsidiaries of trade mission, CHD Hubei company attended the aforementioned activities.
