A magnitude-7.0 earthquake struck Jiuzhaigou county in Aba Tibetan and Qiang autonomous regions, Sichuan province at 21:19 on August 8, with an epicenter at a depth of 20 kilometers.
China Huadian Corporation immediately activated its emergency response system for earthquakes right after the quake and demanded that all director generals with related departments stand by.
China Huadian will next instruct its Sichuan subsidiary to forestall geological disasters with elevated efforts; prevent deaths or injuries or facilities damages caused by aftershocks and secondary disasters; ensure local power generation and guarantee power supply and actively shoulder its responsibility of combating disaster and undertaking relief works as a sate-owned enterprise.
