In late July, CHD Party Leadership Group Secretary and Board Chairman Zhao Jianguo went to Switzerland, Sweden, and Iceland Republic for researching European practices in biomass, waste power generation, distributed CHP, and geothermal power generation and for visiting GE, Siemens, and Sulzer to have intensive discussions in deepening cooperation.
In Switzerland, Zhao Jianguo investigated the biomass power generation and waste-to-energy plant, visited GE gas&power headquarters in Europe and witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding for JV Huarui’s Five-Year Development.
While visiting the biomass power generation facility and waste-to-power plant, Zhao Jianguo closely researched the areas for collecting processing household waste, and fermentation and power generation. He highly appreciated Swiss companies characteristic business modes and their practices in realizing efficient utilization of resources. He demanded that director generals and managers in his delegation to carefully study their advanced methods of collecting raw materials, utilizing biogas residue and slurry, waste power generation and district heating.
In Sweden, Zhao Jianguo researched the Recycling Energie AG and the 261-MW Rya Combined Heat and Power and also Sweden Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Ltd.
He also hold talks with Willi Meixner, Siemens AG CEO. He hoped that two sides will identify where to further deepen cooperation and seize opportunity in Chinese energy industry upgrading for new development.
In Iceland, Zhao Jianguo visited the Icelandic National Energy Authority and visited the world’s largest geothermal power station.
During his meeting with Mr Gudni Johannesson, the Director General, Icelandic National Energy Authority, Zhao Jianguo was given a thorough presentation on Icelandic government’s policy for geothermal resources development. He then went to the Hellisheidi geothermal power station and closely researched the drilling, management and control, steam-water separator and other facilities. He said that geothermal is renewable and that China Huadian should promote the use and development of it.
