Yangzhou Company 2×400MW gas-fulled units commissioned

The No.2 400 MW unit of Huadian Jiangsu Yangzhou gas-fulled power plant completed a 168-hour full-load test run recently. 

This 2×400MW facility are built on the same area where a 2×200MW coal-fired complex was removed from. The newly installed units fit the province’s efforts to adjust energy mix, increase clean energies uses, promote energy conservation and emission reduction, and ensure regional power supply. Construction of facility main body started on December 26, 2015 and each unit’s nameplate capacity is 475.45 MW.   

The power plant shows profound environmental performance as it runs on the CCGT model and relies on natural gas from Ji-Ning branch of West-East Gas Pipeline and as it emits no flue gas and almost no SO₂ and saves up to 1.3 million tons of standard coal, cutting CO₂ emissions by 1.8 million tons annually. Its commission also lays a solid foundation for Huadian Yangzhou company to build itself a clean energy base and contributes to Yangzhou to become a better livable city.
