Wen Shugang met with Jayadeb Nanda of Adani

CHD Power Plant Operation Co., Ltd. and Adani Power Limited inked Memorandum of Understanding at CHD headquarters on May 10. Prior to the ceremony, CHD Board Member, President, Deputy Party Leadership Group Secretary Wen Shugang host a meeting with Adani Power Chief Operating Officer Jayadeb Nanda and Vice President Arindam Chatterjee, exchanging views on further strengthening cooperation.

Mr. Wen extended his welcome to Mr. Nanda at first and then introduced CHD’s current business and development. He said that the two sides enjoy huge potential of cooperation since that China Huadian, with assets spread across a number of countries, has gained rich experience in investing, constructing, operating, maintaining and modifying power plants and that Adani Power is the large IPP in India. He hoped that the two sides will remain in close contacts, promote understanding and expand collaboration in the fields of O&M, technical upgrading and project development to achieve new progress.   

Mr. Nanda talked about Indian power market and Adani Power’s development. “China Huadian is a leading energy group in China and I’m very excited about our cooperation”, he said, adding that he expects CHD’s advanced technology and qualified talents will support Adani’s efforts in optimizing plant efficiency and cutting emissions against the background that players in Indian power market now face intense competition and stringent regulations for environmental protection. He also hoped that further communication with CHD will deliver more results.

Representatives from CHD Power Plant Operation and Adani Power then signed the MOU which state that the two sides will leverage respective advantages for cooperation in plant investment, EPC and O&M based on the principle of mutual benefits and common development.

CHD Deputy Chief Economist Baihua, heads of relevant departments and subsidiaries also attended the meeting and the signing ceremony.
