Wen Shugang met with Fabrice Fourcade of EDF

CHD Board Member, President, Deputy Party Leadership Group Secretary Wen Shugang, Vice President, Party Leadership Group Member Deng Jianling met with Electricited de France Vice President, President of EDF China Fabrice Fourcade at CHD headquarters in Beijing on February 28, exchanging views on further strengthening cooperation.

Wen Shugang welcomed Mr. Fourcade and his delegation and briefed them on CHD current development. He said that since the beginning of the 13^th Five-Year-Plan period, China Huadian has been remained dedicated to fulfilling state’s new requirements for energy industry and shifting focus to development; and that China Huadian is determined to become cleaner and more decarbonised and is now eyeing bigger boost in overseas markets. He noted that at the end of the period covered by the 13th Five-Year Plan, CHD will reduce pollutants emissions for per kWh of electric power generated by 20% from the level at the end of the 12nd Five-Year Plan period; cut energy consumption by 20 grams; increase international business revenue to 10% of our total annual revenue; achieve a 8% or higher return rate of net assets (CHD “2218” strategic goal). Wen Shugang also said that EDF is a world-leading enterprise with rich experience, advanced technology and great strength in developing thermal power, distributed energies and clean energy and that the two sides enjoys bright prospects for cooperation. He hoped that two companies will strengthen communication in techniques and management, and increase joint efforts in areas covering clean development of coal-fulled power, distributed energies, and overseas markets exploration, so as to promote cooperation to a new level.

Mr. Fourcade appreciated CHD’s recent achievements and next moves and introduced EDF’s current development. He also pledged to hold cooperation with CHD in high regards, looking for new areas to work together for mutual benefits.
