Huadian’s largest offshore wind farm project, the Fuijian Fuqing Haitan Strait 300MW offshore wind farm, was approved on December 29, marking a great breakthrough in Huadian’s development of offshore wind power industry.
The wind farm is located near the shore off the northeast part of Longgao peninsula, Fuqing county, Fujian province, where average annual wind speed standing at 9.2m/s. It is designed to install 50 largest nameplate capacity and most advanced turbines totaling 300MW. On average, the project will run 3526 hours and generate 1058 GWh of electric power per year. Installation will start in next year and is scheduled to span 36 months to put the first turbine on grid in the first half of 2018.
Huadian Fujian Youxi Tangchuan (48MW) and Datian Wuling (48MW) were also approved by local development and reform commission on the same day.
