Cheng Niangao visited Russia and France

Member of the Board, President Cheng Niangao visited Russia and France from September 23 to 28.

While in Russia, Cheng Niangao inspected Huadian Teninskaya gas-steam combined cycle plant and Huadian Arkhangelsk thermal power station and visited Alexei Alsufyev, deputy Arkhangelsk region governor, north of Russia.  

On site of Teninskaya power plant, Cheng Niangao listened to work reports of all construction parties involved, studied project status, and visited front-line workers and gave them greetings for the National Day. He said that as the first investment cooperation project of electric power between China and Russia, Huadian Teninskaya power plant is a significant part and flag project of China-Russia strategic cooperation. He urged everyone to recognize that it’s crucial and urgent to commission plant by end of 2016. He also called upon all engineering parties to intensify exchanges and coordination to ensure project quality and to complete construction within schedule.  All members should bear in mind “safety as priority”, according to Cheng, coordinate cross activity on site and orchestrate every step of work with a clear goal in mind. Staff on site should has perspective task and strive to build Teninskaya as a quality pilot project.      

While in France, Cheng Niangao visited managerial personnel from Sintez Group in Paris, stakeholder of TGC-2. They discussed how to move faster construction, capital inject of Teninskaya and asset delivery of Arkhangelsk and further expanding cooperation. Russian partners appreciated Huadian for its great support for co-op projects and vowed to keep pace with schedule. After that, Cheng Niangao visited BNP Paribas headquarters in Paris. The two sides exchanged views on potential cooperation, as well as European energy and policies.     

Representatives from Thermal Power Department and Huadian Hongkong Company also attended the delegation.
