China Energy Holds 2019 Wind Turbine Maintenance Skills Competition

From October 29 to November 1, the China Energy 2019 Wind Turbine Maintenance Skills Competition was successfully held in Nanning, Guangxi. The event was sponsored by the Trade Union Department and New Energy Center of the group, organized by Longyuan Power Group and co-organized by Guangxi Longyuan Wind Power Company.

After three days of fierce competition, 52 of 150 contestants from 21 subsidiaries took home awards. Yu Chongyang, Liu Lei and Duan Shipeng won first prizes in combined turbine, and Chen Peng and Zhang Chao won first prizes in Goldwind turbine. In addition, 51 contestants under the age of 35 were awarded the honorary title of “China Energy Youth Position Expert.” Longyuan Power Group won the Outstanding Organizing Award.

This competition is the first wind turbine maintenance skills competition held after the restructuring of the group. The contestants were categorized into two groups competing in maintenance of combined turbines and Goldwind turbines, respectively. Consisting of theoretical written examination and practical operation, the competition focused on testing the contestants’ mastery of knowledge about safety, operation and maintenance at wind farm and testing their comprehensive skills in on-site operation, equipment examination and fault treatment.

The competition provided a platform for the staff members to exhibit their skills and achieve career growth, promoted the improvement of the professional competence of turbine maintenance workers, and built a technical talent reserve for the development of the wind power industry of China Energy.
