Wang Xiangxi Attends 2019 Summer Davos

From July 1 to 3, Wang Xiangxi, secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and chairman of the Board of Directors of China Energy, attended the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2019, also known as the Summer Davos Forum, held in Dalian.

The 2019 Summer Davos, with the theme of “Leadership 4.0: Succeeding in a New Era of Globalization,” was attended by more than 1,900 representatives from the political, commercial, academic and media circles in over 100 countries and regions across the world.

Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the annual meeting on the morning of July 2. The Summer Davos Forum has been held in China for 13 consecutive years and is still of pragmatic significance today, Li said. Given current international situations, the forum’s focus on economic globalization is of strong realistic pertinence. Premier Li’s speech sent a strong signal to the world that China’s economy is sustainable, healthy and stable. He also assured the world that China will further open up its market to the outside world and support free trade and investment.

In the afternoon of July 2, Wang attended the dialogue session Premier Li held with business leaders from home and abroad. Officials with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council and more than 20 business leaders of Global Top 500 companies were present at the session. Wang also accompanied Hao Peng, director of the SASAC, to a closed meeting with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev. At the meeting, Wang briefed on China Energy’s strengths in the clean energy sector, and expressed willingness to enhance cooperation and exchanges with Bulgarian energy businesses to jointly advance pragmatic partnerships in the energy sector.

In the evening, Wang Xiangxi took part in the seminar for exchange between Chinese and foreign enterprises jointly held by the SASAC and the World Economic Forum. Hao Peng, the SASAC director, Chen Qiufa, secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Tang Yijun, governor of Liaoning Province, attended and addressed the seminar. Other participants included directors from 66 Chinese and foreign companies.

On the same day, Wang also attended a symposium hosted by the Hebei provincial government and Dalian municipal government, where the participants exchanged views and insights on how to further advance strategic cooperation between China Energy and Hebei Province, Liaoning Province and Dalian City.
