China Energy Releases Phased Results of the Commercial Use of Harmony OS in Mining

On September 14, China Energy joined hands with Chinese telecom equipment giant Huawei to hold the first release of results of the commercial use of Harmony OS in the industrial field, in an effort to promote the application of Harmony OS in mining and ensure the corporation plays a lead role in the innovation of coal mining technology. Representatives from the National Mine Safety Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, China National Coal Association, and other institutions and enterprises witnessed the release of the “Harmony OS for Mining.”

Phased results of the application of the Harmony OS for Mining were released at the event. The system uses the near field communication (NFC) technology to automatically connect various equipment and sensors with the personal mobile terminals of miners. It can automatically display information of connected devices and provide data of working scenarios such as pressure, height and proceeding of the coal working face, so as to help miners control mining equipment more conveniently with their mobile terminals and achieve visualized, mobile operation. With the use of the unique bus wire technology, the Harmony OS for Mining achieved the application of a unified equipment-level operating system in coal mining for the first time. It features unified interfaces, protocols and standards, solving the problems hindering coordination and connection of equipment produced by different manufacturers.

So far, the Harmony OS for Mining has been applied in 398 coal working face devices in 20 categories. It has been proven to be a “safe, reliable and controllable” industrial automatic control technology. The release of its phased results heralded the beginning of a new era of the Harmony OS for Mining, blazing a path of scientific innovation for high-quality development and digital transformation of the coal industry.
