GD Power Supports Rural Revitalization by Building Kindergarten in Tibetan-inhabited Area

Volunteers from Qinghai New Energy Co., Ltd. under GD Power Development Company, a subsidiary of China Energy, launched a Teacher’s Day interactive activity at a kindergarten that the company built in a village of Gangca County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, on September 9, with an aim to enhance preschoolers’ awareness of respecting teachers.

The kindergarten is located in a Tibetan-inhabited area in Gangca County. Constructed with funds from GD Power, it has a floor space of 971 square meters and accommodates 90 children from farmers and herders’ families in two nearby villages, significantly relieving the shortage of preschool education at the village level in Gangca. The building of the kindergarten features a steel frame structure and is equipped with a floor heating system fueled by clean energy. It helps improve preschool education in remote pastoral areas and optimize local children’s study environment, playing an important role in boosting healthy physical and mental development of children in the locale.

At the beginning of this year, GD Power established a rural revitalization leadership group and three work teams to comprehensively advance rural revitalization by strengthening industrial development, personnel training, and coordination work according to its 2021 action plan for rural revitalization. It makes rural revitalization a priority task for this year, and has clarified annual goals based on division of responsibilities, ensuring personnel responsible for rural revitalization work are well deployed, take due responsibilities and make good performances in work. To constantly accelerate the development of areas just emerging from poverty and improve local people’s lives, it has also taken five major measures, including making funds for rural revitalization in place on time, strengthening fund investments to maintain social stability and achieve targeted poverty alleviation in Xinjiang, making all-out efforts to provide paired assistance for Gangca County, consolidating poverty alleviation achievements in Youyu County, and expanding assistance through the pro-consumption campaign.
