Yanbao Energy’s Driverless Operation Standards Included in Plan for the Formulation of the Coal Industry’s Group Standards

Five technical standards in the Technical Specifications on the Driverless Transport System in Open-pit Mines formulated under the leadership of Yanbao Energy, a subsidiary of China Energy Investment Corporation, were included in the 2022 plan for the formulation of the coal industry’s group standards by China National Coal Association on March 8. This was the first time that China’s coal industry began to formulate a comprehensive standard system for driverless transport systems in open-pit mines.

Yanbao Energy is a Chinese pioneer in driverless transport research in the field of intelligent mining. It is the first in China to achieve 100-ton autonomous truck transport in extremely cold environment. Based on its advanced experience gained from the pilot project of driverless truck operation in open-pit mines under extremely frigid and complicated weather conditions, the company formulated the Technical Specifications on the Driverless Transport System in Open-pit Mines, which contains 10 items and specifies basic technical requirements on overall structure of open-pit mine driverless trucks, sites, communication and other systems, construction plans, system categorization, design and structure, functions, and technical indexes. It can be used as a reference by mining enterprises using driverless trucks in open-pit coal or metal mines and other closed transportation facilities.

Yanbao Energy is joining hands with enterprises and institutions such as China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), Aerospace Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Qingdao Vipioneers Co., Ltd., and China Mobile Hulun Buir Branch to formulate the “driverless transport system group standards”, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year. This marks an important step made by Yanbao Energy in advancing intelligent mining, which will play a positive role in promoting healthy development of driverless transportation in China’s open-pit mines.
