China Energy Co-founds the Intelligent Coal Mining Coordinated Innovation Center with CCTEG

The inaugural conference for the Intelligent Coal Mining Coordinated Innovation Center, jointly established by China Energy and China Coal Technology & Engineering Group (CCTEG), was held in Beijing on November 3. Liu Guoyue, CEO of China Energy, and Hu Shanting, chairman of CCTEG, addressed the conference.

In his speech, Liu noted that the establishment of the Intelligent Coal Mining Coordinated Innovation Center is a concrete move made by China Energy and CCTEG to implement the arrangements of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council on promoting technological innovation and accelerating digitalized transformation of state-owned enterprises and to carry forward the guiding principles of the National Conference on the Promotion of Intelligent Coal Mining. By leveraging CCTEG’s advantages in technological research and high-end manufacturing and China Energy’s industrial advantages, the coordinated innovation center will further deepen technological cooperation, strengthen coordinated innovation, stimulate the creativity of the research staff, and improve the technological innovation system and mechanism.

Liu stressed that the coordinated innovation center should adhere to science-based development, vigorously push forward the research of key and core technologies, cultivate high-caliber research and technical talent, promote intellectual property creation and industrialization, and build a first-class technological innovation coordinating platform. This will provide technological support for China Energy to achieve the goal of transforming all coal mines to be intelligent by 2025, and contribute a central enterprise’s strength to the development of intelligent coal mining and removing technological bottlenecks hindering the country’s development.

Hu said that the founding of the Intelligent Coal Mining Coordinated Innovation Center sets a good example for strengthening the development of technological innovation system in the energy industry. CCTEG will allot its most optimal research resources and strength to the center, and the two sides will work closely together to promote innovation and industrialization of core technologies, making contributions to the growth of China Energy’s intelligent coal mining and the high-quality development of China’s coal industry.

During the conference, the Intelligent Coal Mining Coordinated Innovation Center was officially inaugurated, and the first working meeting of the center’s Management Committee and a meeting on technical demand and research suggestions were held. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on the operations of the center and the research demand for intelligent coal mining.
