China Energy Completes Construction of the Longest Bridge along the Huanghua-Dajiawa Railway

On October 10, the last T-shaped simply supported RC beam was installed on the 488th arch of the Haixing Ultra-Large Bridge, the longest bridge with the highest average pier height along the Huanghua-Dajiawa Railway constructed by China Energy. This marked the completion of the bridge construction project, and laid a foundation for the entire railway to be open to traffic by the end of this year.

The Haixing Ultra-Large Bridge of the Huanghua-Dajiawa Railway, located in Haixing County, Hebei Province, is 16.22 kilometers long and has 501 arches. It is comprised of four continuous beams, one steel truss beam and 488 T-shaped simply supported beams. To ensure the smooth progress of the construction of the railway, a special working group for land acquisition and demolishment, comprised of key leaders of the project, was formed. Since the project began construction on March 20, the team has actively coordinated with local governments to speed up land acquisition and demolishment work. Upon the requirements of the construction project, China Energy organized a series of professional competitions among construction workers, substantially accelerating the construction of the railway. At the same time, it adopted measures such as increasing investments in pier and girder molding and mechanical equipment and introducing multi-team 24-hour continuous construction, effectively shortening the bridge’s planned construction period by more than two months.

During the construction process, builders of the Huanghua-Dajiawa Railway have created a new record by daily producing 12 T-shaped beams and laying 10 T-shaped beams. This won time and created favorable conditions for the construction of follow-up engineering projects such as wet jointing and the catenary system.
