Baotou-Shenmu Railway’s Intelligent Heavy-haul Train Maintains over 200,000 Kilometers of Safe Operation

As of November 6, China Energy’s intelligent “3+0” 10,000-ton heavy-haul train had been safely operating for 226,936 kilometers along the Baotou-Shenmu Railway.

Intelligent driving is a new generation of information technology integrating radio frequency sensing, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, 5G and other technologies. It helps realize full-process automated control of heavy-haul trains in China for the first time. Since the Shenmu-Shuozhou rail line was put into operation on October 16, 2019, intelligent trains have safely completed 1,085 trips after repeated adjustments and improvements over the past year, setting a new record with a total of 1,798,132 gross ton kilometers.

So far, the intelligent “3+0” 10,000-ton heavy-haul train has been safely operating for more than 200,000 kilometers, marking the maturity of the technology. This provides strong technical support for the intelligent development of China Energy and even the whole nation’s railway transportation.
