As of November 3, Baoshen Railway Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Energy, had transported 253,935,000 tons of cargo this year, 26,000 tons more than the goal set for the year.
In the first months of this year, the integrated operation of China Energy was impeded by the COVID-19 outbreak, resulting in severe pressure on its transportation and production businesses. As of May 20, Baoshen Railway Group’s cargo transportation lagged behind the preset yearly schedule by nearly 9 million tons, making it hard to achieve this year’s goal. Starting from late May, however, with work resumption sweeping across China, all industries gradually returned to normal. Taking advantage of the favorable opportunity brought by supply and demand boom in the coal market, Baoshen Railway Group stuck to its yearly goal and made every effort to catch up with the preset schedule.
According to transport demand, the company adjusted the number of trains, coordinated the structure of train types at different stations in a timely manner, and paid close attention to cargo loading at stations with relatively sufficient coal supply and successive transport of regional trains. It increased the maximal daily number of 10,000-ton trains operating at Hezhi station from seven to 14, thus over-fulfilling the daily transport goal and creating conditions for the smooth operation of the Shenchi South Boundary. Facing the transportation peak time in summer, the company designated personnel responsible for the use of transfer locomotives between Shenmu North and Dongsheng stations and shunting locomotives along the Shenshuo line, so as to enhance their operational efficiency and unleash the transport potential of the Shenshuo line. Thanks to those measures, the Shenshuo line made up for the debt of 6.49 million tons in cargo transportation within 82 days. In July and October, it respectively made up for debts of 2.4 million tons.
