By January 27, the Shandong branch of China Energy had generated 4.416 billion kWh in this month, a year-on-year increase of 37.5 percent, accomplishing the preset monthly target four days ahead. Meanwhile, it supplied heat of 4.75 million GJ, a year-on-year increase of 65.5 percent, with electricity-powered heating supply significantly growing compared to the same period of last year. Both achieved growth in the first month of 2021.
In the beginning of this January, China was hit by extremely cold weather, causing pressure on fuel supply and epidemic prevention. Following the requirement of “preventing the spread of the epidemic, ensuring safe production, ensuring employees’ health and ensuring energy supply” from the headquarters, the Shandong branch went all out to promote safe production while keeping epidemic prevention and control measures in place, ensure all generation units in full, stable operation, and achieve safe, high-standard heat supply in the first month of 2021.

In terms of safe production, the company carried out a risk screening and remediation campaign to ensure safe power generation. Based on thorough research of factors behind production safety, it sent supervisors to the frontline of production to find out any risk that may lead to malfunctions and remove all potential risks, laying a solid foundation for safety in power generation and heat supply.

To increase power generation and guarantee stable heat supply, the company strengthened coal transportation and ensured available coal is above the alert line. Moreover, it stepped up the maintenance of coal-unloading and fuel system equipment to ensure stable supply for coal-fired generating units, and collaborated with grid stations to guarantee full delivery of electricity. All heat supply units were required to achieve “zero temporary repair,” and its heat supply pipeline units were required to achieve “zero malfunction.” The company also improved its emergency treatment plan and complaint response mechanism and adjusted heat supply plans according to customers’ actual needs to ensure stable heat supply.
