After the coronavirus disease broke out, the Hubei Qingshan Thermal Power Plant under China Energy assisted the Wuhan Municipal Government in emergency disposal of municipal sludge. As of April 8, a total of 1,700 tons of sludge had been treated, effectively alleviating the problem of sludge disposal for Wuhan and making a positive contribution to ensuring a normal living environment for local citizens.
Due to the impact of the outbreak, Wuhan’s existing disposal channels for municipal sludge were blocked. After coordination by the municipal water administration and eco-environment administration, with the approval of the city’s epidemic prevention and control command, the Hubei Qingshan Thermal Power Plant was designated as a key sludge disposal unit of Wuhan during the epidemic prevention and control period. Beginning on February 29, the power plant has assisted the Wuhan Municipal Government in emergency treatment of municipal sludge, disposing of 50 tons of sludge a day on average, with the maximum daily treatment reaching 100 tons. At present, the municipal sludge doping disposal work at the plant is still proceeding in a smooth and orderly manner.
