A total of 1,637 tons of fly ash from the Shizuishan power plant of Ningxia Power, a subsidiary of China Energy, was loaded on board a freighter in Yantai Port, eastern China’s Shandong Province, on February 5, which would be shipped to the African country of Guinea for a construction project under the Belt and Road Initiative. This was the first time that the power plant exported its fly ash abroad.
Fly ash is loaded onto a freighter.
This batch of fly ash would travel 22,000 kilometers via road-railway-sea multimodal transport to Guinea, where it will be used as building material for Belt and Road projects including hydropower stations, iron mines and railways.
