China Energy Railway Equipment’s Multimodal Transport Project Wins China First Prize for Modern Logistics

The TOFC-based multimodal transport technology and strategic system research project launched by China Energy Railway Equipment Co., Ltd. won the National First Prize for Technological Innovation in Modern Logistics on September 27, further pushing forward the leapfrog development of non-coal transportation.

The research project was launched to further expand the company’s categories of multimodal transport services and create new business models for smart logistics services. Based on its independently developed TOFC multi-purpose vehicles and two multimodal transport logistics demonstration bases, the company developed an intelligent logistics big data platform on its own, achieving an organic combination of logistics and “internet+” and establishing TOFC full-set organizational solutions and pricing standards, which marks a major innovation in transport organization. The research project is oriented to market demand and driven by innovative development. To remove bottlenecks in the logistics industry, it achieves the seamless connection between highway and railway transportation and TOFC-oriented multimodal transport and enhances the reliability, safety, efficiency and cost performance of logistics through researching new technologies such as new equipment, big data, and the Internet of Things.
