Daba Plant of Ningxia Power Wins the Title of China Excellent Power Engineering Project

Recently, the results of the 2020 China Power Excellent Engineering Assessment were unveiled. The Phase IV of the Daba Plant project of Ningxia Power under China Energy Investment Group, which involves two 660MW generator units, was titled the 2020 China Excellent Power Engineering Project.

The Phase IV project is a key power engineering project in the 12th Five-Year Plan of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, as well as a supplementary power supply project for ultra-high voltage power transmission from eastern Ningxia to Zhejiang Province in east China. Construction of the Phase IV project commenced on November 8, 2015, and its two generator units respectively passed 168-hour full-capacity trial operation on October 21, 2018 and April 30, 2019.

The project involves eight national low-carbon energy-saving technologies, 10 new construction technologies from seven categories, 25 new technologies related to power engineering, and five technologies of independent innovation. It has won 59 prizes at provincial/ministerial level and above, one computer software copyright, and one design award.

In the process of construction, the Phase IV project adhered to the strategy of strengthening safety and quality management and rigorously controlling construction costs. Despite difficulties and challenges, all constructors strived to make it a nation-leading, world-class power engineering project with generator units superior to all peers in various indicators and the lowest costs in the region. It received unanimous recognition from evaluation experts of China Electric Power Construction Association in the assessment of excellent power engineering projects.
