China Energy’s GH EMM Indonesia Launches Virtual Open Day

GH EMM Indonesia under China Energy launched a Virtual Open Day themed “Powering Life Beyond the Equator” on June 17. Through vlog, the event showcased how local employees in the power plant worked and lived, as well as the remarkable contribution the power plant made in accelerating local economic and social development and improving local people’s livelihood, to media organizations and the public.

In recent years, following the principles of “extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits,” China Energy has fully leveraged the advantage of its energy industrial chain, taken an active part in the construction of the Belt and Road, and strived hard to achieve high-quality internationalization. The two generating units in GH EMM Indonesia began operation on July 6 and November 3, 2011, respectively. The power plant has created several records in Indonesia’s power industry and received high acclaims from governments at various levels and industrial authorities, erecting a good image for Chinese power enterprises.

While maintaining stable operation of overseas assets, China Energy has actively fulfilled its social responsibilities. It has helped local communities build mosques, schools and highways, created many job opportunities, and provided new opportunities for improving local livelihood and accelerating local economic development. The three joint venture projects of China Energy in Indonesia totally created more than 7,000 jobs. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, China Energy has donated anti-epidemic supplies totaling US$267,000 to Indonesia.
