China’s First 1 GW Generation Unit Begins Operation after Renovation

On March 19, the No.6 generation unit officially began operation after 168 hours of 1.05GW full-capacity trial operation at Beilun Power Plant of the Zhejiang branch of China Energy. This marked that China’s first 1GW USC generation unit with homemade DEH control system successfully completed capacity expansion and renovation.

The No.6 generation unit completed a 168-hour full-capacity test run.

To build a world-class coal-fired power plant, the Zhejiang branch of China Energy started to enhance the capacity and efficiency of its generation units and accelerate the implementation of the strategy of promoting domestic development of key equipment. It introduced a domestically developed control system to renovate the No.6 generation unit in Beilun Power Plant, with the aim of meeting the needs of new development with optimized energy consumption. The generation unit’s DEH control system uses the EDPF-NT+ system developed by Guoneng Zhishen Control Technology Co., Ltd. for the first time, achieving domestic, independent and intelligent development of core technologies. Data shows that if running at full capacity, the average power generation capacity of the unit can exceed 1.05 GW, with all indicators better than expected.
