The “technology of welding a short titanium steel composite pipe with consistent inclination at a high altitude chimney counterbore,” which was independently developed by Longyuan (Beijing) Carbon Assets Management Technology Co., Ltd. under China Energy, was authorized by the State Intellectual Property Office as an invention patent on July 7. Easy to deploy, more affordable, and suitable for large diameter high-altitude operations, the technology can be used to install ultrasonic flow meters to help promote the carbon dioxide online monitoring system.
The company creatively adopts methods of opening counterbores between upstream and downstream sections of the chimney, dropping a lead wire into the concentric pipe, setting titanium steel composite short pipe at the courterbores extruding from the concentric pipe, and high-frequency cold welding to achieve relative fixation between the titanium steel composite short pipe and the titanium steel composite plate chimney. The lead wire used for the technology consists of rigid lead rod, flexible lead rope and rigid lead rope, featuring light weight and high strength. The new technology facilitates large diameter operations at high altitudes, which can greatly shorten the construction period and reduce the economic cost.
