Wang Xiangxi Meets with Vice Chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region Zhang Yongze

On April 16, Wang Xiangxi, president of China Energy Investment Corporation, met with visiting vice chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region Zhang Yongze and his delegation. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on further deepening cooperation. China Energy Deputy CEO Mi Shuhua also attended the meeting.

President Wang extended appreciation to Tibet Autonomous Region for its support and assistance in the development of the group company over the past years, while briefing on China Energy’s development plans, poverty alleviation efforts and the progress of hydropower projects in Tibet. China Energy attaches great importance to its operations in Tibet, Wang said, and it will continue endeavoring to promote clean energy development and poverty alleviation in Tibet, fulfill its social responsibility as a central State-owned enterprise and work together with the regional government to promote local sustainable economic and social development.

Zhang Yongze gave a brief introduction to the hydropower resources in Tibet and expressed gratitude to China Energy for its generous support to energy development and poverty reduction in the region over the years. He hopes that China Energy will play a greater role in the construction of Tibet’s clean energy base so as to help achieve win-win results and common development between enterprises and local governments.
