China Energy Holds Study Session on Ecological Civilization Construction

On June 24, China Energy held a study session on a series of discourses on ecological civilization construction to promote the company’s ecological construction work. Liu Bingjiang, director general of the Department of Atmospheric Environment Management under China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment, gave a lecture at the study session, which was attended by senior leaders of the group company including Wang Xiangxi, Liu Guoyue, Zhang Guohou, Gao Song, Mi Shuhua, Bian Baochi, Wang Shumin, and Cai Anhui. Liu Guoyue presided over the meeting.

In his lecture, Liu Bingjiang systematically explained and interpreted the concept of ecological civilization from three aspects: in-depth study and understanding of the concept of ecological civilization, overall deployment of the battle against pollution, and specific measures China Energy can implement to fight pollution.

Liu Guoyue stressed that China Energy should be aware of the urgency and arduousness of protecting the ecological environment and controlling environmental pollution as well as the importance and necessity of ecological civilization construction, firmly establish the concept of “ecological red line,” and resolutely abandon the model of sacrificing the environment in exchange for temporary economic benefits and the “pollute first, clean up later” approach. He required all relevant subsidiaries to hold on to their responsibilities, strengthen the implementation, further improve the mechanism, and enhance guidance and assessment, so as to ensure no major ecological and environmental incidents take place.
