After Beijing raised its COVID-19 emergency response to Level 2 from Level 3 on June 16, China Energy headquarters and its subsidiaries in Beijing have strengthened measures for regular epidemic prevention and control while ensuring smooth operation and production.
On June 17, the headquarters of the group company resumed closed management of its office space, requiring all employees and visitors alike to have their temperature taken, scan a QR code on their smartphones, show their certificate or register before entering the compound. In the meantime, apart from making nucleic acid testing compulsory among all suspected people, the company also asked all close contacts and employees who had been to high risk areas such as Xinfadi Market in the past 14 days to conduct COVID-19 test.
All subsidiaries based in Beijing have also taken strict epidemic prevention measures. North China Company has canceled business travels into and out of Beijing, all its departments, projects and canteens adopt grid management, and all staff members have completed nucleic acid tests. Guohua Investment carried out nucleic acid test screening among those who had been in close contact with coronavirus-related regions and personnel since May 30, and implemented a “zero report” system.
Guodian Electric Power has set up autonomous temperature assessment devices to complement manual temperature measurement, restricted the number of passengers in elevators, and placed epidemic prevention materials such as disinfectant and tissue paper used to press elevator buttons. China Shenhua distributed more than 8,000 masks to all staff members, requiring them to wear in workplace. The Energy Saving and Emission Reduction Company has equipped all offices with disinfection supplies, and disinfects door handles, desktops, and computer keyboards and distributes medical masks on a regular basis. Shenhua Guoshen Group, which is headquartered on the high-risk Financial Street in Xicheng District, combines “designated staff on duty by week” and “work from home” models to keep office attendance rate lower than 30 percent. Longyuan Electric Power strengthened canteen management and supervision by ensuring regular disinfection of kitchen utensils and enhancing health management for the catering staff.
China Energy North China Company checks employees’ temperatures before they enter the workplace.
All the companies have also endeavored to ensure production proceeds in an orderly manner. Beginning on June 17, Beijing Gas-fired Thermal Power Plant under Guohua Electric Power has implemented closed management of all frontline production workers inside the plant. The Railway Equipment Company has developed a health reporting software platform to dynamically manage the health status of its staff on a daily basis. The Capital Holdings Ltd. strengthens emergency measures to ensure “zero interruption” of financial services on all fronts.
