‘Small Wishes’ Fulfilled: Young Employees Donate Books to Grassland Children

To celebrate the Children’s Day that falls on June 1, China Energy organized a campaign aimed at poverty alleviation through one-on-one educational aid on the grassland of its Second Youth Work Collaboration Zone. Young employees of the group’s subsidiaries in the Collaboration Zone donated 500 journals to the poor children in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, as a special holiday gift.

The campaign was co-sponsored by Guohua Power, Guodian Technology and Environment Group, and Guodian New Energy Technology Research Institute, with participation from 13 China Energy subsidiaries in the Second Youth Work Collaboration Zone. Organizers collected 500 “small wishes” of poor left-behind children from Ningcheng County, Chifeng City, the designated poverty-alleviation county of the group, and posted them online, encouraging employees to donate children’s books to the children on the grassland to help them expand their horizons, enrich knowledge, and realize their Children’s Day wish. The donated periodicals involved in the event totaled nearly 30,000 yuan in value.
