Gansu Branch’s Jingyuan 153 MW Wind Power Project Connected to the Grid for Power Generation

On December 24, the first batch of wind turbines of Jingyuan Wind Power Project was connected to the grid with normal status and parameters, and operated smoothly, which marked the successful completion and operation of the first wind power project of China Energy’s Gansu Branch during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025).

Spanning the Heping District and Jingyuan County of Baiyin City, Gansu Province, the 153 MW wind power project includes Hezhaike Wind Farm, Gunzichuan Wind Farm, Lujiaquan Wind Farm, a 110 kV power transmission and transformation project and a 330 kV power transmission and transformation project. After the project is completed and put into operation, it can generate 480 million kWh of electricity every year, save energy consumption by 148,800 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 136,400 tons, thus bringing remarkable economic and environmental benefits. Since the start of construction, the company has been putting safety first, paying close attention to quality control and making every effort to ensure the project progresses smoothly and is put into operation within the year on schedule. This project has created a new record in the province in terms of building a 330 kV booster station and a 330 kV transmission line, and applied for the first time the 3MW platform lightweight turbines produced by the United Power under China Energy in northwest China.

The completion and operation of this project has accumulated valuable experience for the Gansu Branch to build 330kV substations, transmission lines and mountain wind farms, kicked a good start for the company to make a pragmatic stride in upgrading and development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and contributed China Energy’s share to realizing China’s “3060” target.
