Dagangshan Company Inscribed onto Local List of Positive Examples in Ecological Enforcement

Dagangshan Company of Daduhe Hydropower Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Energy, was listed among the first batch of “positive examples” in ecological and environmental enforcement by the Ya’an Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment. Those enterprises on the list enjoy the right to be exempted from in-situ inspection and enjoy other preferential policies. Dagangshan Company was commended by the local government for its remarkable achievements in environmental protection.

To advance the modernization of the ecological and environmental governance system, transform the supervision and management modes and optimize the law enforcement models, the local authorities put enterprises that set a good example in abiding by law onto a “positive examples” list, which will enjoy the right to be exempted from environmental inspection unless necessary. This shows the government’s trust for enterprises on the list and encourages others to follow suits in compliance with environmental regulations and laws.

Dagangshan Company has long been committed to implementing the concept of new development and keeping dynamic records on environmental protection. It continues to promote environmental protection through increasing investment in environmental conservation, strengthening environmental risk control, improving ecological oversight and governance measures, and enhancing environmental training for employees. The company insists on improving the water environment of the reservoir area, optimizing the water ecosystem, and strengthening the control of waste emissions. Moreover, it carries out patrols, cleaning, and fish enhancement and releasing on a regular basis. So far, it has recovered 16,700 tons of floating debris from the reservoir area, released more than 1.72 million fish, and collected and transferred 55 tons of dangerous waste. The company has passed the local government’s annual hazardous waste standardized treatment examination for four straight years, making great contributions to local environmental protection.
