China Energy Anti-Epidemic Steering Group Convenes Its Third Meeting

The Anti-Epidemic Steering Group of China Energy Investment Corporation (China Energy) convened its third meeting on February 14 to make arrangements for future epidemic prevention and control as well as production and operations. Chairman Wang Xiangxi presided over the meeting, and other top leaders including CEO Liu Guoyue attended the meeting.

Wang called to take more targeted measures to fight the epidemic, unwaveringly advance key work related to prevention and control, constantly strengthen worker health and safety, and mobilize all employees to make due contributions at their respective posts. He pointed out that the corporation needs to make more effective plans, keep a close eye on economic operation, and promote various works including production, operation, reform and development while helping other enterprises resume production as quickly as possible. He asked China Energy to further strengthen internal resource guarantee, restart a number of key projects as soon as possible, and vigorously advance the specialized campaign of enhancing quality and efficiency. The company must attach greater importance to production safety and environmental protection to ensure “zero work safety accidents and zero environmental pollutions” in this special time. Sectors such as coal, chemicals, electricity and transportation should take concrete action to strengthen the outsourcing team management and onsite management, advance the promotion of the “year of safety and environmental risk control,” and push forward the construction of the dual precaution and control mechanism involving classified safety risk management and potential risk inspection and control, Wang added.

Liu Guoyue stressed that currently China Energy should attach great importance to preventing and controlling the epidemic through scientific and effective measures while resuming production and operations in a safe, orderly manner. He added that the corporation needs to advance integrated production and operations, prioritize solving the prominent problems, strengthen analysis on the trends of coal production and power generation, and formulate contingency plans for key nodes in work, thus laying a solid foundation for the company to accomplish its goals this year.
