Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd., an affiliated company of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), and the government of Liangping district in Chongqing have launched the public-private partnership (PPP) project for aquatic environment protection and sustainable development of Longxi River in a contract signing ceremony held on July 17, marking the beginning of the project’s construction stage.
The project will focus on three major areas: urban sewage treatment, rural surface pollution prevention and control, and wetland eco-environment protection and management.
Once completed, the project will provide numerous benefits to the region. Specifically, it is expected that the project will improve the overall water quality and restore the eco-system of the Longxi River, enhance the eco-environment surrounding the river and improve the overall living standards in the region.
