The Xiluodu and Xiangjiaba cascade reservoirs, built and owned by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), announced that they have completed their impoundment goals for 2020.
Xiangjiaba reservoir was impounded to 379.61 m at 12 p.m. on October 6, hitting the annual target after Xiluodu, which completed impoundment one day earlier, marking the full completion of impoundment at the end of flood season and the seventh consecutive year that they have completed the tasks.
The Xiluodu and Xiangjiaba hydropower plants are the third and fourth plants of four cascade hydropower plants on the downstream section of the Jinsha River. With a total installed capacity of 20.26 GW, they have the capacity to produce 88 TWh of renewable power annually.
