On November 30, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the installation of the first section of penstock to the world’s first power generating unit with 1 GW installed ca-pacity in Baihetan Hydropower Station. After nearly two months’ preparation, the first section of the steel penstock on the left bank has been safely positioned in place. Water diversion tunnel for the plant has moved from the excavation and construction stage to the metal structure installation stage.
