ZiguiQuxi sewage treatment plant, China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG)’s pilot project in Yichang of Hubei province, was put into trial operation on December 28, 2019, making it CTG’s first operational pilot Yangtze River protection project.
It took the company only 15 months to complete the project, which began construction on September 7, 2018, earning it a nickname “the speed of Zigui”. The project serves 70,000 people in the region after completion.
As CTG’s first pilot Yangtze River eco-system protection project put into operation, ZiguiQuxi sewage treatment plant will improve the aquatic environment in the area.
In addition, the plant will contribute to Yangtze River pollution control and the water quality of the Three Gorges Dam reservoir as part of CTG’s concerted effort to restore and protect the Yangtze River economic zone’s ecosystem.
