Renowned Chinese writers visit Three Gorges Project

A delegation of Chinese writers paid a visit to the Three Gorges Project from November 27 to 30, gaining first-hand knowledge about the Yangtze River protection project and the history of its operator China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG).

During the three-day trip, the delegation learned CTG’s evolving role since its birth, starting out as the builder of the Three Gorges Project and now becoming the operator of the project and the protector of the Yangtze River.

The writers, awed by the magnificent Three Gorges Project and massive economic and social benefits delivered by the project along the waterway from Yichang to Yueyang, were deeply impressed by the proactive initiatives taken by CTG in protecting the Yangtze River.

“The Three Gorges Project trip allows me to see the towering dam as well as the relationship between people and nature in the area. I am delighted that the residents along the Yangtze River are living in harmony with the Three Gorges Project!” said Huang Enpeng, one of the visiting writers.

“As the mother river of the Chinese people, Yangtze River is also an integral part of the Earth’s ecosystem. Therefore, protecting the river is of great significance and what CTG is doing in this regard is truly extraordinary,” said Xu Guixiang, Vice Chairman of China Writers Association.
