Recommended by ICC China, Jiang Wei, Chief Engineer at Chinese Sturgeon Research Institute of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), was selected as a Member of the Working Group on Biodiversity under International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission on Environment and Energy.
Founded in June 1920, ICC is an international non-governmental economic organization comprising more than 100 countries, headquartered in Paris. As one of the important and most active commissions under ICC, ICC Commission on Environment and Energy has conducted research on issues of global concern, such as climate change, biodiversity conservation and green economy and has played an active role in promoting global environmental governance and energy utilization and development.
CTG has been carrying out projects in habitat conservation and species protection technology for Yangtze River rare and endemic fish, in aquatic biodiversity and endemic plants conservation, as well as in terrestrial ecological conservation and restoration, accumulating rich experience.
Jiang Wei from CTG is the only Chinese expert recommended by ICC China this time. CTG will continue to work with industry associations and international organizations in well-coordinated conservation of the Yangtze River and biodiversity conservation, and to share CTG’s experience with all stakeholders.
