CTG’s solar project goes online in Ningxia

China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co., the alternative energy arm of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), said it has commenced power generation at its phase one Litong photovoltaic power project in Ningxia on June 11.

Located in Litong district, Wuzhong in Ningxia, the project boosts a total installed capacity of 200 MW, generating 303 million kWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to saving 92,000 tons of standard coal compared with a fossil fuel power station of the same capacity.

Once fully operational, it will play a significant role in energy conservation and deliver huge social and economic benefits, reducing emissions of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and smoke and dust by 7,900 tons, 230,000 tons, 72,000 tons respectively every year.
