A consortium led by Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd. (YEE), an environmental business arm of China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), announced that it has won the bid for a major ecological public-private partnership (PPP) in Nanjing as part of the Yangtze River protection initiative on August 4.

The consortium was awarded the Nanjing Sewage Disposal Facilities project, the first pilot project collaboration between YEE and consortium member Beijing Enterprises Water Group Limited (BEWG).
The project, which will adopt an innovative build-operate-transfer + own-management (BOT+OM) model, is the first rural sewage disposal project for the company. It is also one of the most important infrastructure projects planned for Luhe District in Nanjing of China’s eastern Jiangsu province, serving nine towns and 2,500 villages and almost half a million residents.

The rural sewage plant, which aims to address water pollution issues in the district, is a pilot demonstration project under the Yangtze River protection initiative between YEE and Nanjing city. The project is expected to effectively ensure water safety for the region’s residents while also improving their living conditions.
