The First Energy Project in “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor” of CTG Fully Put into Operation

On June 20, the second wind farm of Three Gorges-Pakistan’s Wind Power Project Phase II was officially put into commercial operation, 91 days prior to the date set forth in the Power Purchase Agreement. This marks that the Three Gorges-Pakistan’s Wind Power Project Phase II was fully put into operation, and became the first energy project in “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor” fully put into production in CTG.

The Chinese and Pakistani governments listed Three Gorges-Pakistan’s Wind Power Project Phase II as a priority project in the “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor”. The Project has two independent farms, namely, the second and the third wind farm. The total installed capacity is 99 MW with 66 wind turbines. Annual power generation capacity is designed at about 300 million kWh. The BOO development mode is adopted, and the operation period is 20 years. The two wind farms are developed, constructed, and put into production simultaneously. Among them, the third wind farm was officially put into commercial operation on June 9 this year, 102 days prior to the date set forth in the Power Purchase Agreement. In respect of the second wind farm that was subsequently put into operation, and it only took 15 days from the inverse power transmission to grid-connected power generation, thus setting a new benchmark in wind power in Pakistan.
