China's first self-developed large-scale offshore floating wind turbine rolls off assembly line

China's first self-developed large-scale offshore floating wind turbine, co-created by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), completed the testing and rolled off the assembly line at the offshore wind power industry base in Yangjiang, Guangdong on May 26.

This marks China's new breakthrough in key technologies of offshore floating wind power, laying a solid foundation for the country to scale up the economical development of wind power in deep and open sea.

Jointly developed and manufactured by CTG and Mingyang Group, the offshore floating wind turbine has a capacity of 5,500 kilowatts and a diameter of 158 meters. It can provide clean electricity for 30,000 households every year.
