The Three Gorges Seed Fund, a joint project between the China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) and Yibin City, has been recognized for its ongoing philanthropic efforts, making the 2020 Demonstration Projects of Energy Poverty Alleviation list.
The list was revealed at the 2020 China High-quality Energy Development Summit and the Seminar on Poverty Alleviation Achievements of the Energy Industry held in Beijing on September 9.
The fund helps poor households to develop farming, breeding, processing and service industries. To date, CTG has invested 12 million yuan in the fund, supporting 62 relocation villages (communities) and directly benefiting 2,100 households and more than 2,200 people. Through these efforts, the fund has delivered an average annual income increase of approximately 5,700 yuan per household.
